Product Uses:
Non-Ionic Polyacrylamide (NPAM) is a water-soluble polymer or polyelectrolyte utilized in the flocculation and sedimentation of various industrial wastewaters, clarification processes, papermaking and pulp wastewater treatment, as well as wastewater treatment in mining and metal smelting operations. Through the adsorption of suspended solid particles in water due to the presence of polar groups in its molecular chain, NPAM enables particle bridging or charge neutralization, leading to the formation of large floccules. Consequently, it accelerates the settlement of particles in suspensions, significantly enhancing solution clarification and facilitating filtration processes.

Applications of Non-Ionic Polyacrylamide (NPAM):

  1. Wastewater Treatment Agent: When suspended wastewater is acidic, NPAM serves as an ideal flocculating agent. It facilitates the adsorption and bridging of suspended particles, resulting in flocculation and precipitation, thereby purifying the wastewater. It can also be used for tap water purification, especially when combined with inorganic flocculants. Remarkable effects are observed in water treatment for coal washing, mineral processing, leather tanning, electroplating, copper smelting, and ironworks.

  2. Textile Industry Auxiliary: By adding certain chemicals, NPAM can be formulated into chemical materials for textile sizing.

  3. Sand Fixation and Prevention: Dissolving NPAM to a 0.3% concentration and adding a crosslinking agent, it can be sprayed onto deserts to prevent sand movement and stabilize sand dunes.

  4. Soil Moisture Retention Agent: Used as a soil moisture retention agent and a basic raw material for various modified polyacrylamides.
