Cationic Polyacrylamide (CPAM) is a linear polymer compound characterized by its versatile functional groups, which enable it to form hydrogen bonds through affinity and adsorption with numerous substances. Primarily used for flocculating negatively charged colloids, CPAM exhibits functions such as turbidity removal, decolorization, adsorption, and adhesion. It is suitable for wastewater treatment in industries with high organic colloid content, including dyeing, papermaking, food processing, construction, metallurgy, mineral processing, coal powder, oilfields, aquatic product processing, and fermentation. It is particularly effective for the dehydration treatment of municipal sewage, municipal sludge, papermaking sludge, and other industrial sludges.

Product Features of Cationic Polyacrylamide:

  1. Excellent water solubility, fully dissolvable in cold water.

  2. Only a small amount of CPAM is required to achieve significant flocculation effects. Typically, an addition of 0.0110ppm (0.0110g/m³) is sufficient to exert its full effect.

  3. Combining CPAM with inorganic flocculants (such as polymerized ferric sulfate, polyaluminum chloride, and iron salts) can yield even greater results.

Application Fields of Cationic Polyacrylamide:

  1. As a Flocculant: Primarily used in industrial solid-liquid separation processes, including settlement, clarification, concentration, and sludge dehydration. Key application industries include municipal wastewater treatment, papermaking, food processing, petrochemicals, metallurgy, mineral processing, dyeing, sugar refining, and wastewater treatment across various industries. In municipal sewage and wastewater from meat and poultry processing, CPAM promotes sludge sedimentation and dehydration by electrically neutralizing negative charges on organic colloids and leveraging its excellent bridging and flocculating capabilities to aggregate colloidal particles into large floccules for separation from suspension. The results are remarkable with minimal dosage.

  2. In Papermaking: Serves as a dry strength agent, retention aid, and filter aid, significantly improving paper quality, reducing costs, and enhancing production capacity. It directly interacts with inorganic salt ions, fibers, and other organic polymers through electrostatic bridging to enhance paper's physical strength, minimize fiber or filler loss, accelerate filtration, and is also effective in white water treatment and de-inking processes.

  3. Fiber Sludge (Asbestos-Cement Products): Improves drainage in molded asbestos-cement products, enhances the strength of asbestos board blanks, and increases the binding capacity of additives and fibers in insulation boards.

  4. Mining and Coal Preparation: Acts as a clarifier for mine wastewater and coal washery wastewater.

  5. Wastewater Treatment: Used in dyeing, leather, and oily wastewater treatment for turbidity removal and decolorization to meet discharge standards.

  6. Phosphoric Acid Purification: Facilitates gypsum separation in wet-process phosphoric acid production.

  7. Water Treatment in River-Source Water Plants: Serves as a flocculant.

Packaging and Storage of Cationic Polyacrylamide:

This product is a non-toxic powdered granular substance susceptible to air quality, impacting its quality. Therefore, it should not be stored in damp or sun-exposed environments. During handling and transportation, avoid contact with metals such as iron and copper, and prioritize diaphragm pumps and piston pumps for conveyance. The storage life of solid granular or powdered polyacrylamide is 2 years.
